Match Report 19 February 2017
In Division one the title race took another turn last weekend with JFC United recording a win and Village Park Rangers falling to a defeat leaving JFC United with a three point lead with both sides having two games left to play. JFC United defeated Stockton Five Alls at home 4-0 thanks to two goals from Junior Masandi and a goal each for Dimitri Kehi and Zakarya Alashwal whilst Village Park Rangers slipped to a 3-1 defeat away to St Marys College. Goals for St Marys came from Jack Sedgwick, Josh Bywater and Matthew Forster with David Wilkinson replying for Village Park Rangers. Fairfield Sports & Social Club enjoyed a narrow 3-2 win away to Thornaby Aerodrome Club with goals from Matthew Snowdon, Michael Ball and Tom Beattie whilst Daniel Pearce and Ryan Hunnam scored for Thornaby Aerodrome Club. Doctor McGonicles (was The Garrick) entertained Storytellers United and ran out 4-2 winners with a hat-trick for Chrissy Skipper and one goal from David Higgins, Stewart Coats scored both goals for Storytellers United. Billingham The Kings went down 4-2 away to Thornaby Roundel both goals from Jonathon Cason.
The title race in division two is a two horse race with South Bank currently leading PH FC Elmtree by one point with three games to play including having to play each other. South Bank enjoyed a 4-0 win away to Nifco with two goals from Graeme Watson and a goal each for Anthony Barnes and Isam Benomran. PH FC Elmtree entertained RSD at Tilery and the visitors shook their opponents by taking the lead through Liam Davis but this was only a minor setback as PH FC Elmtree scored five without reply. John James led the way with a well taken hat-trick and a goal each for Ian Durant and Ian Evans. The George Pub & Grill got back to winning ways with a narrow 4-3 away to Marton Rovers thanks to two goals for Chris Dunwell and one each for Graeme Baverstock and Anthony Hollinshead. For Marton Rovers the goal scorers were Andrew Townsend, Hayden Moody and Kevin Young. Norton Unicorn’s good form continued with a hard fought 2-0 win against Riverside thanks to goals from Adam Walton and Paul Chamberlain. Thornaby Sports & Leisure had a 5-3 win at home to Eaglescliffe thanks to two goals for Rhys Logan and one each from Andrew Milbourne and Michael Tye plus an own goal whilst for Eaglescliffe Danny Hall scored two and one for Callum Barraclough.
In the Premier Division Norton Red Lion entertained Thornaby Village and met a team who found their early season form and inflicted a 6-0 defeat on Norton Red Lion. There were four goals for Karl Charlton and two from Harrison Davies to set up the win. Hardwick Social Club entertained Thornaby Oddfellows and ran out 4-2 winners with goals from Tom Coulthard, Danny Lawson, Charlie Raby and Jamie Owens, for Oddfellows Josh Larkin and Richard Robinson were the scorers.
